Building Community Strength. Fueling Community Growth.

The Gay and Lesbian Activist Network for Gender Equality (GALANG) Inc. is a lesbian-initiated, lesbian-run non-profit non-government organization in the Philippines. The name of our group is a play on the Filipino word for respect -- galang.  Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 29, 2008, GALANG is led by a Board of Trustees composed of five lesbian-identified women who believe in the need to empower and conscienticize community-based Filipino LGBTs to give the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender sector in the Philippines a voice in policy-making.  GALANG’s day-to-day affairs are run by a Management Team, led by its Executive Director, Anne Lim.  Lala G. Ravacio is GALANG’s Director for its Capacity Building Program, while Racquel S. Gacho is the organization’s Director for its Consolidation and Networking Program.  Armina T. Velarde completes the Team as GALANG’s Creative Director.  The Management Team is supported by an Advisory Committee that is composed of highly-esteemed professionals, as well as a pool of volunteers who are all respected members of Philippine LGBT communities.
